MTBS History


Our team was officially started back in October of 2000. Back then there were only four of us George, Ben, Morty (Ben's little brother) and myself. We played in both Ben and George's backyards with mostly springers. All of us were ex-paintballers and I was first introduced to airsoft back in 98' when I accidently stumbled upon the cimmerians who were renting the paintball field my freinds and I were intending on playing at.

This was back when I was living in california. We immidiatly thought they were a millitia and almost shit our pants! All of my freinds didnt want to get airsoft guns because they didnt want to spend that much money. But my urge to play airsoft could only lay dormant for so long.

When I moved to Massachusetts I immidiately began hanging out with Ben and George because of our paintball background. I proceeded to tell them about airsoft and immediately they got guns. When I tried to order my first gun it got screwed up so I just mooched some of theirs. When we first started we had 2 pistols a super 9 ,an HFC m16 springer and an Hfc MP5-sd3. We used to play in bens back yard and sometimes included his neighbors yard . When christmas came around I bought a TM Sig 550. Not too long after George got his Spas12. Our team was starting to shape up. We went without a name for about a year. We still only had four people when we started playing with better guns. We began playing on conservation land behind Bens house. Later on in the spring ben bought his Spas 12 and Ben Nugent started playing with us.

By late summer our teams armament included Sig-550, M4-a1,Ak-47,Psg-1, Benelli m3, Spas 12,Spas 12 w/folding stock and the springers. Not too bad for a team of five players. Until about january 0f 2002 our team had been only five players. Now it has exponentialy grown form 4 to about 12 serious players and we are still growing rapidly.

Our team still continues to grow and so does our armament. During the Spring of 2002 we joined up with (Dead Cell) and since then play regularly with them. To say the least we have definately got our act together since we first started. We've made it to RPC several times and had a great time with Charlie Company and Iceman. Wehave yet to make it up to a Tolland event, but we wish to soon. we're always looking for other people/teams in the area so drop us a line if your intersted in getting together.

7/1/02- We haven't played too much recently: Kevin is in California and my AK broke. But when he gets back we should start playing a little more. Ben got a SR16 I haven't seen it yet but he tells me that it's nice. I have finnished the changes to Ben's page so if you haven't already go check out the new gallery by clicking on the gallery link.
6/17/02-Hey guess what stupid thing the pecker shooter did this weekend. He picked up a baby skunk (after Kevin insisted that baby skunks can't spray) and got sprayed all over his hand. He smelled like shit for the rest of the day. Good Job Jay!!!
6/8/02- We played up at Rockingham Paintball in New Hampshire this weekend. Although only Kevin, Anthony and Myself were able to make it we still had a great time. We had our first taste of a team that had their shit together, Charlie Company. We managed to do okay, granted that we only had three players. I think that this weekend became a learning experience and next time we go up there we will be better prepared. I'd like thank both Iceman and Charlie Company for a great day of airsoft. I will be adding their web sites to our links very shortly.
6/7/02- I'm taking over Ben's website and I am now in the process of putting old pictures onto that site. I will have links set up soon, but for now you can go to www.wargamers.cjb.net to check out the new galleries.
5/26/02-We played a short game at a new field with the Barnstable team. Only Kevin and myself showed up from our team, but we still had a good time. After the game we tested our new secret weapon (a potato gun). It launched those spuds pretty fucking far. We just got an invite to a game up in New Hampshire June 8 and hopefully we can make that.
5/11/02-We played for the first time in Barnstable Saturday night. We only brought 3 players from our team, but the team from Barnstable had 5. The field we played at is awesome. It has the best of both worlds; CQB and a woodland field. For our first time playing CQB we did ok, but we still got beat pretty bad. I didn't manage to get many pictures, but i'll be sure to get some next weekend when we play.

4/9/02- We wanted a change in fields, so this past weekend we returned to a field we used to use when we first started. Saturday we went with some shovels and built some new bunkers. They turned out to be really cool. We played a game Sunday. We used our new bunkers and had some fun games. Check out the new photos of Ben's Field and of the game. Kevin just got his new Aug and Sean should be getting his within the week. April Vacation is coming soon, I can't wait.
3/23/02- We tried to play a game sat with the team from Barnstable, but it fell through. We still went down to Cliff's field and played a few small games. We only had 6 people though and really didn't play that much. Instead we resorted to some crazy death matches. Chris was initiated during those matches (meaning we sprayed him with magazine after magazine).
3/16/02- We played our first match against another team today. The weather sucked but we made the best of it. We only played a few games, so there was no clear cut winner. Although I would say we did pretty well. The other team was real cool and hopefully we'll play with them again.
3/10/02- We had another great game yesterday. The weather was great, but a little hot. We have changed the date of our first match to next saturday and we can't wait. I've posted all the pics from this weekend so check them out in the gallery.
3/2/02- We played a great game at cliffs today. We had about 12 players and had a great day of airsoft. I brought a grill and we cooked some hamburgers for lunch. Dina, Kurt, and one of Cliff's friends played for their first time. The cops showed up after a complaint from some lady on a bike. But he was cool and didn't give us any problems. 2/28/02- We have arranged our first game against another team!!! It is set for the first saturday in March. I hope we do well.
2/27/02- We are planning our biggest game for this saturday. We are expecting at least a dozen to come but maybe more. So you can expect the pictures up as soon as I get them. We have edited some of our movie clips and we plan to put them up in the near future. And in a couple weeks we are going to have someone film a whole game. We have recently added 5 more guns to the team gun list: two M16 A2s, a gbb Deagle, a HK Sg1, and a Mp5. I will be adding them soon in the guns section and hopefully will get some more reviews up.
2/22/02- I was out of town for a while and I just got back. I'm working on putting the pictures up from last game. We had a great game at Cliff's Field last Sat. There were only six of us but we still had a great time. I used my Ak47 and Ben K. got to use his Aps2 both for the first time. Sean played for his first game of airsoft and by the end of the day racked up six kills. I will be adding the pics soon so check them out in the Games section. I have also been working on the movie clips with the help of Ben K. and currently we have two small clips up. We plan to have somebody film a whole game with a good camera so you can expect a team film soon.
2/14/02- I'm still working out the bugs and adding new pics. Feb. Vacation is next week so you can expect me do add a bunch of pics and most likely add some of our video clips.
2/12/02- I'm still working out the bugs in the site. I've fixed most of them, but if you have any suggestions or if you want to report any problems with the site e-mail me at masstabetas@hotmail.com. I also added a new pic today. Check it out in the Gun Gallery.
2/11/02- We plan to play a few games over the February vacation. I will post the new pics and a summary of the games.
